Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions producers and production managers ask most often.
Can the AI make mistakes in the breakdown?
Yes, it's possible. The assistant does the bulk of the work in a few seconds to save you time, but you keep full control. You review the breakdown table and easily correct whatever needs it. On top of that, your manual corrections are remembered: if you upload a new version of the script later, you don't lose your validation work.
I'm still working on my script, can I start anyway?
Absolutely. You don't need to wait for the final shooting version. When you upload a new version of your script (V2, V3...), Soldum updates the analysis intelligently without overwriting the changes or validations you had already made manually on the previous version.
Where do your budget estimates come from?
Our estimated quotes are based on the official union rates in force, the collective agreements, and the usual scales (notably those of the CNC). They give you a solid working baseline that you then refine with your own real quotes.
Where do the suggested actor profiles come from?
When Soldum suggests talent matching your roles, it draws on public film databases (such as The Movie Database) and professional casting directories. You can also enrich the selection with your own contacts from your organization's address book.
Do I have to use the chatbox or WhatsApp?
No, not at all. The conversational assistant is there to save you time on quick actions, but all of Soldum's features remain accessible via a classic visual interface (tables, lists, menus). You work however you prefer.
Does my team need to install a specific app?
No. Soldum is accessible from any web browser on a computer. For team members on set (such as location managers), interaction happens directly via WhatsApp, which they already have on their phone. There's nothing to install.
Can I export my documents?
Yes, at any time. You can export your quotes (in Excel or PDF format), your call sheets (PDF) and your contracts (PDF). You are never locked into the platform.
Are the contracts legally valid?
Yes. Soldum includes the standard contract templates officially provided by the SACD. In addition, our built-in electronic signature tool has legal evidential value (thanks to timestamping and traceability). Learn more about contracts
How much does Soldum cost?
You can upload a script and discover your film's breakdown for free. To unlock all the modules (budget, casting, logistics, scheduling, contracts, financing…) on a project, you switch that project to the full plan via a one-time payment. The principle is simple: one license = one project, with no recurring subscription.
The public price will be announced soon (coming).
Can several people work on a project?
Yes. You invite your collaborators by email and assign them a role (Producer, Director, Assistant director, Location management, Crew, Reader) that finely determines what each person can see and edit. You can also adjust permissions module by module. Team messaging and comments are built into every project. Learn more about teamwork
Does Soldum help me finance my film?
Yes. Soldum builds your financing plan and helps you identify the right sources: regional grants (via the official Aides-Territoires database), the tax credit, SOFICA funds, broadcaster pre-sales and a distributor's minimum guarantee. It tracks the commission deadlines and generates the application files. Learn more about financing
Does Soldum handle post-production?
Soldum focuses mainly on pre-production and shooting. However, the platform helps you anticipate the technical resources needed for post-production from the preparation stage, and centralizes the documentation required for your grant and subsidy applications. Learn more about post-production
